Kinepolis aims to give its customers the ultimate movie experience and combines state-of-the-art cinema infrastructure with an offering for different target groups. We were commissioned by the construction firm Bouwbedrijf Vrolijk to contribute to this project by finding the right balance between covering the fire risks, meeting the requirements set by the municipality and fire service and the budget.
Challenge; Response time means tough requirements
Breda municipality imposed tough fire safety requirements based on the number of visitors and the response time of the fire service. Another challenge was that the planned storage tank did not hold enough water.
Approach; Partnership with Breda fire service and municipality
All fire safety solutions were discussed with the fire service and Breda municipality. Using Fire Safety Engineering, we devised a combination of measures that met the tough requirements and generated financial savings.
Result; Automatic fire safety systems
We provided Kinepolis Breda with automatic fire safety systems: sprinkler system, fire alarm system and evacuation system. By applying a different, equivalent standard, the challenge of finding enough available water was resolved. The sprinkler system is FM Approved.
