With separate container
The Bioclass-SC HR+ foam extinguishers (6 and 9 litres) provide huge financial and ecological benefits. For example, the 6 litre version contains 5.96l clean water and 0.04l PFOA-free Bioclass fire-fighting foam in a container that can be replaced separately.
Sustainability compared to traditional extinguishers
Fire-extinguishing foams should be replaced every 5 years in a standard foam extinguisher, i.e. four times during the legally-permitted life of 20 years. By storing the foam separately from the water, you only have to do this once every 10 years, or twice in total. A huge advance, in other words.
Separate container: minimum waste stream
The foam only mixes with the water when the cartridge is pressurised during use, causing the separate container to burst open. As a result, instead of replacing 6l of slightly contaminated water every 5 years, only a 0.04l container of PFOA-free Bioclass foam needs to be replaced.
