Inspections of water supplies according to TB 67B

Certified sprinkler systems with a clean water tank or cellar are maintained in accordance with Technical Bulletin 67B – Control and Maintenance regime for Water Reservoirs (TB 67B). It applies to bolted tank for water storage or a water cellar with a coating or a liner.

The TB 67B describes 3 types of inspections:
A inspection

This is an annual check to determine the condition of the installation. The filled tank / cellar is visually checked on the inside and outside using a checklist. The findings are documented in a written report. Any deviations are added to the report with relevant photos, as are corrective measures.

B inspection

A dive inspection is done once every five years. The filled tank / cellar is visually checked on the inside and outside using a checklist. The findings are documented in a written report. Any deviations are added to the report with relevant photos, as are corrective measures.

C inspection

This check is done every ten years. The empty tank / cellar is visually checked on the inside and outside using a checklist. The findings are documented in a written report. Any deviations are added to the report with relevant photos, as are corrective measures.

There are two purposes of inspections on tanks / cellars:
  • We determine the condition of the tank / cellar and remaining lifespan;
  • We determine the reliability and operational security.
What could be wrong with a water supply?
  • Worn out tank coating;
  • Worn out or defect liner;
  • Corrosion on the tank wall or suction pipe.

We offer: maintenance, repair and renovation work
A inspection

We annually conduct this inspection as part of the preventive maintenance of a sprinkler system and is included in the maintenance contract.

B inspection

We make an offer with a description of the activities and supplies. We plan a dive inspection on location, this includes endoscopic examination of the suction pipe and measurement of the plate thickness of the tank wall. Afterwards you will receive an extensive report in accordance with TB 67B.

C inspection

We do a pre-inspection on location. We make a customized offer with a description of the activities and supplies. We write an action plan and do the work. We put the installation back into operation. Afterwards you will receive an extensive report with images in accordance with TB 67B and we issue the certificate.

There are several factors that determine which activities are required to be able to certify the tank. This includes the degree of corrosion, the temporary water supply, type of coating, construction, required replacements and other repairs.
